"You Watchin The Cs Bro? The Cs Are Fucking Automatic" - Paul Pierce And Kevin Garnett Talking About The Celtics Is About As Must Watch As It Gets

Things are pretty great right now for the Celts, I think we all understand that. They're playing great, Rob is due back any day now, Tatum and Brown have established that they are the best duo in the NBA, Mazzulla Ball is revolutionizing the sport, the list goes on and on. While it may not last forever given how long the NBA season is, we can worry about that later. I recommend you stay present in the moment and at this moment in time the Celts are in a tier all by themselves. It's been glorious.

The only bad thing really is the fact that they don't play until 10pm tonight since they are out west in PHX. Luckily for you, I have just the thing to help you kill the time. The day has just started and I've already watched this 10,000 times. You know what's better than watching this team play? Listening to Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce talk about them

I'm not even being hyperbolic when I say that these two guys changed my life forever. I feel like I'm probably not alone in that regard. If you want to talk about historic Celtic duos, Paul and Kevin are about as high up the list as you can get. Pierce being one of the greatest Celtics to ever walk this earth, KG coming and changing EVERYTHING about the organization and delivering that ever elusive title. For people around my age, it simply does not get bigger than Pierce and KG. They are Gods. What they say matters to me. 

It's hard for me to explain how I felt watching that clip. I laughed, I cried, I ran through every wall in my house. It's just so surreal to hear these two legends talk about this current Celts group and Tatum/Brown specifically like this. It's like we're coming full circle or some shit and it's beautiful.

If there's anyone who understands the Celts mindset this season, it's these two. They've gone through the battles, they broke through and made a Finals (and won). They've lost a Finals in heartbreaking fashion. They understand the type of pain that has clearly molded this entire roster over this past summer. It's one thing for me or other talking heads to talk about this team, it's another when it comes from guys like this. Guys that have talked the talk AND walked the walk. Two first ballot HOF and Top 75 All Time guys know a thing or two about the game of basketball in my humble opinion.

I'm not sure what my favorite part was, to be honest. There's the fact that Pierce is most definitely not on planet earth during that video. That man is zooted to the moon. I know it when I see it with Paul and when he's looking like this

I know he's in another galaxy. That man was STUCK in his chair. 

Then there's KG's very correct assessment that the world needs to put some respect on Jaylen Brown's name. I couldn't agree more Kevin. The All NBA agenda is in full swing and anyone who pays attention knows that Jaylen isn't a 1B. He's a 1A. That's what makes the duo so unstoppable. 

There was also the part where Pierce suggested that the 2023 Celts have a better offense than the 2008 Celts did and KG had never been more disgusted with anything in his life

What a moment. This is why I love KG. He spent the first 15 minutes praising this group, but the second it's suggested they're better than him at anything, that competitor comes out. His going on that rant about the eras and their defense was must-watch stuff. He's a basketball psycho until his last breath and that's why he's the greatest. He's very wrong in terms of comparing the offenses, but also very right when he said that his team was killing everyone. That 2008 group had the 10th highest point differential of ALL TIME. They were beating teams by over 10 points a night (2023 Cs are at +8.0).

Pierce talking about how Tatum is starting to remind him more and more of himself as he continues to figure out the game was another fantastic moment. Tatum has a legit chance to become this generation's Pierce, the same way Pierce was my generation's Bird

The way he talked about how Tatum has evolved to the point where the game is slow for him could not be more true. That's the biggest change in his game over these last few years. He's seen it all, he's calm, and he understands where the right play is pretty much every single time down the floor. 

I promise you, if you are a fan of this team, watch the first 20 minutes of that video. What are you going to do, work? Fuck that. This is way more important. I dare you to watch it and then not be incredibly fired up. We still have a billion hours to go until this team plays tonight so I recommend watching it a few times. There's porn, and then there's Grade A Celtics porn like this.
