Behind The Scenes Of Another Tom Brady Masterpiece

Today was fucking awesome. There isn't really a better way to put it. The Bucs won in epic fashion in a game that'll live on forever as we defeated Ben Mintz's kind of favorite NFL team (when they're good). Mintzy passed on my offer to join me for a Bucs vs. Saints game on Monday Night Football because he was at the SEC Championship Game two days earlier and also citing that the team was terrible despite them only being two games out of the division lead. So the plan was to meet up with Kelly In Vegas, who lives in the area, and also bet on the Saints to win the NFC South before the season started.

But before that, I filmed and editing a fun video at TB12 Performance & Recovery with future hero Rachaad White, then I headed over to the stadium.

At Raymond James Stadium, Kelly & I had field passes and got to hang with some great Buccaneers folk and one of the most powerful men in the world, Adam Schefter, who is known to his friends like myself as Schefty.

I also was on the sidelines as the Bucs QBs were warming up and got to basically live out my dream.

As for the actual game on the field, there wasn't much to speak positively about. The Bucs scored three points on their first drive and didn't score again until the 4th Quarter. I was not overly optimistic at halftime based on everything I'd seen in the first two quarters.

Things continued to look bleak into the 4th Quarter as Todd Bowles decided to punt on 4th & 7 from the Saints 40 instead of go for it. The punt ended in a touchback for a net of 20 yards and I was furious. I sat to watch the first half of the 4th Quarter from the seats, but I left as a credentialed media member to what I thought would be, watch the game from the field for the final five minutes.

However, there was a change to media access since I'd be down there on October 27th and I could not get on the field. But I was next to the lockerrooms, so decided to just stay there to finish watching the rest of the game. The Bucs drove down and got a touchdown and I figured I should go back to my seats to take it all in. But I'm a team guy (who is also a little superstitious) and decided to stay put.

My view of the final drive was just a sliver, but it was exactly enough to get able to take in the W.

It did allow me to have prime positioning postgame for when one of my guys came through. Boy was this one sweet!

And I had to give the GOAT a fist pump after that masterpiece. The TV cameras picked it up and it is an all-time clip.

Post-game, Todd Bowles didn't say much. Tom Brady was fairly candid and open and even started off his presser with a joke.

After that wild game, the Bucs are now 6-6 and have swept the Saints for the first time in 15 years. Celebrate in style with a We Dat shirt, now available in the Barstool Store.

The Bucs now have a game and a half lead on the Atlanta Falcons for the lead in the NFC South and have a huge game in San Francisco on Sunday as the #3 seed now becomes potentially up for grabs after Jimmy G's injury.
