TCU Finally Played With Fire Enough To Get Burned And Now We Wait On The CFP Committee

If you're a TCU fan, you have to be happy it at least took this long for the Horned Frogs to lose a game. TCU flirted with disaster half a dozen times this season but always somehow found a way to win until the Big 12 Championship Game.

Now we wait.

I think TCU still probably gets into the College Football Playoff, but it's going to be a nerve-racking 20 hours or so in Fort Worth. The good news for the Horned Frogs is they're competing with two teams that both have multiple losses, so it seems like an overtime loss wouldn't be enough to drop them below Tennessee or Alabama. But this definitely isn't the position TCU wanted to be in going into Selection Sunday. And even if TCU does stay in the field, this loss could very well drop it to No. 4 and force a semifinal against Georgia in Atlanta — something that is not on any team's Christmas list.

The consequences of this loss could be anywhere from negligible to catastrophic. We'll find out tomorrow.
