The College Football Playoff Could Now Be Headed For Maximum Chaos

All USC needed to do was take care of business against Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game and the Trojans would have been in the College Football Playoff in Lincoln Riley's first season at the helm. Instead, they got run off the field by the Utes and we could now be headed for absolute chaos.

If TCU wins in the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday, it seems pretty cut and dry that the four Playoff teams will be the Horned Frogs, Georgia, Michigan and likely Ohio State. But if TCU suffers a similar fate as USC, it's going to be a fascinating 24 hours.

Can TCU still get in with a loss? Or do two-loss Alabama and Tennessee suddenly have life breathed back into their Playoff hopes? We have three spots pretty much accounted for at this point, but a Horned Frogs loss could create the most interesting battle for the fourth spot we've seen in the Playoff era.

It just feels like this Pac-12 Championship Game was the beginning of what could be a crazy weekend of college football. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
