Metallica Just Dropped A KICK ASS New Song

God DAMN that was awesome! That's an old school Metallica sound right there and it kicks ass! Hetfield is growling like vintage Hetfield, Captain Kirk's shredding his face off with a nice crunchy tone, and Lars is going absolutely HAM on that double kick pedal.

'Lux Æterna' is Metallica's first offering since 'Master of Puppets' was used in 'Stranger Things 4', which gave that song new life and honestly introduced the band to a whole new generation....

....and it's the first single off their new record: '72 Seasons', out in April 2023. I think they knew a lot of eyes and ears would be on the first new release after that unexpected popularity boom, too, because this track is KILLER. 

Metallica's music has been super hit-and-miss for me since the 'LOAD'/'RELOAD' albums, but their most recent studio album ('Hardwired...To Self Destruct' from 2016) is TOP TIER - and if 'Lux Æterna' is any indication of what '72 Seasons' is gonna sound like, we're in for another vintage-Metallica-inspired hit. I can't wait to hear more!

Metallica still puts on a fantastic live show (as long as Lars is having a good night) and they'll be hitting the road next Spring on a huge tour....

They're playing every stadium on the lineup twice - and promising completely different openers and setlists for each show. Currently Architects, Mammoth WVH (Wolfgang Van Halen's band), Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Volbeat, Pantera and Greta Van Fleet are listed as the support.
