Army Should Throw The Ball More If Isaiah Alston Is Going To Make Mind-Bending One-Handed Catches Like This

As of this writing, Army had attempted precisely one pass through the first quarter of their matchup against UMass. Such an under-the-radar gridiron clash wouldn't register amidst Rivalry Saturday under normal circumstances, but what Black Knights wide receiver Isaiah Alston did here was far from mundane.

This looks like a man who goes full OBJ and practices one-handers prior to kickoff. Think about how few opportunities a pass-catcher for Army gets to thrive. Given the lack of attempts through the air, it wasn't a shock to see quarterback Tyhier Tyler sail this one to damn near uncatchable heights. Turns out this is the moment Alston has been waiting for his whole life.

I mean the OBJ catch was insane, and I wrote about the Justin Jefferson one in Buffalo not long ago. The best college football catches that come to mind for me have to do with a guy reaching around a defender and still hanging onto the ball. In terms of pure one-handed snags, I don't know if they come any cleaner than the one Alston just put on tape.
