Colorado Has Offered Its Head Coaching Job To Deion Sanders

Coach Prime has his first Power Five offer.

Bruce Feldman reported Saturday morning that Colorado has officially offered Deion Sanders its head coaching job. I’d be surprised if this is the only school that has some mutual interest with Deion — if not beyond that — but he’s certainly the perfect candidate for Colorado. The Buffs need a program builder who can inject some life and excitement back into the program and I don’t think there’s a better coach out there to do those things than Coach Prime.

I don’t particularly care where it is, I just want to see Sanders at the Power Five level. He went into Jackson State and turned it from a doormat to a power while attracting five-star players to an FCS school. Even somewhere like Colorado has enough resources that Coach Prime should be able to make a lot of noise if he keeps recruiting at the level he has at Jackson State.

This won’t be the last school we hear linked to Deion this offseason, but now we know there’s already at least one offer on the table. We’ll see if he ends up staying at JSU or taking the step up to the FBS.
