Todd Bowles Turned The Buccaneers Season Around With An Incredible Speech To The Team

The Bucs started off hot going 2-0 out of the gate with impressive wins over Dallas and New Orleans and giving up a combined 13 points in those two games. But things started to turn after that with the Buccaneers losing five of their next six games. They fell to 3-5 and Bucs fans everywhere were demanding answers. They still have a fantastic roster, but it seemed like chaos and disappointment surrounded a team that just made too many errors. It got to a point where people were pointing fingers about effort and criticizing coaching decisions and playcalling.

Todd Bowles addressed the team in a very cool Hard Knocks-esque series the team has been doing that's out on YouTube called In The Current. With that all access look, we got a glimpse of Todd Bowles calling the team out and demanding both accountability and their best.

A lot has been made about Bowles as the Head Coach who took over the team after Bruce Arians stepped down this past off-season. He had an up and down tenure across two prior stops: in Miami as an interim Head Coach where he went 2-1 and with the Jets as their head man going: 10-6 in his first year followed by 14-34 in his next three seasons before he was let go.

I was very excited to know that he was taking over the Bucs and while there have been questions about his ability to be a Head Coach, I firmly believe Bowles is the guy for the job and this speech further backs that opinion. The latest episode of In The Current includes this awesome look at the comeback win against the Rams.
