South Carolina Native Jalin Hyatt Not-So-Subtly Implies He's Going To Absolutely Torch The Gamecocks For Not Offering Him A Scholarship
Jalin Hyatt is a monster. Through 10 games this season, he's put up more than 1,100 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. He's probably going to win the Biletnikoff Award and be a first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
It's not like Hyatt came out of nowhere once he got to college, either. He was a four-star, top 200 recruit out of Irmo, South Carolina — about 20 miles from Columbia. But he didn't pick Tennessee over South Carolina to spurn his home-state school in some sort of National Signing Day viral clip. USC never offered him a scholarship.
And with the Vols headed to Columbia this weekend, Hyatt sounds ready to make the Gamecocks pay.
Personally, I wouldn't want to be the coaching staff trying to stop the best wide receiver in the country who also happens to have a vendetta against your team. Hyatt is going to make his 207-yard, five-touchdown performance against Alabama look like an off day.
Best of luck to the South Carolina defense this weekend dealing with that. And oh by the way, we haven't forgotten about some of Shane Beamer's other bullshit antics, either.
All signs point to this being the Vols' first 70 burger under Josh Heupel, with Hyatt scoring seven of the 10 touchdowns.
