Dear Ron Rivera, Taylor Heinicke Is The QB. Not Carson Wentz. End of Discussion. Love, Everyone

Can we end this conversation right now please. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING we over in Washington Commanders Land do more than talk about who should start at QB for this team. And obviously it's because we've had 100 starting QBs over the last 20 years, but we have mastered the art of talking about backup QBs and if they should start next week. It doesn't matter what day of the year it is- Christmas, July 4th, or anywhere in between, if you turn the dial on the radio in Washington DC, you will come across a station taking calls about who should start at QB for Washington. It's like Dom's totem in "Inception". It's how I know I'm still alive, in reality. If we ain't talking about who is starting next week for the Commies than something is very wrong (or Dan Snyder has sold the team).

But the answer is obviously still Heinicke. He has done everything right since taking over the starting job from Carson Wentz and there is no reason to go back to something that clearly was not working. Nobody wanted Carson Wentz to succeed more than I did. Shit, I probably wanted Carson to succeed more than Carson wanted himself to succeed. If he saw what I was saying about him before the season began he probably would have told me to lower my expectations. But he did not work out. He was not good. And Taylor came in, put the team on his damn back, and has done everything and more required to be the starting quarterback of this team.

Let's not overthink it, Ron. It doesn't matter what you traded to get Carson, nor how much you are paying him. Those draft picks are gone and that money is spent. Sunk cost if I've ever seen one. But when it comes down to it, the team plays better with Heinicke, the team wins with Heinicke, and Heinicke makes football fun. I think I've had fun 10 times total watching the Skins/WFT/Commanders play in my entire life, and he is making this team fun to watch. Yeah sure, there's still mistakes, but not any mistakes Wentz wouldn't make himself.

So Mr. Riverboat, don't be a dummy. Unless Heinicke does something to lose the gig he should be QB1 on the depth chart. It's truly that simple, that easy. In Heinicke We Trust.
