Green Bay Snaps Their Nightmare Losing Streak As They Take Down The Cowboys In An Overtime Thriller

Can’t say I saw that one coming, but my god did that win feel awesome. For sure the closest Green Bay has come to playing a complete game all year and it results in an OT winner against Dallas. Good ol' Mike McCarthy, always a pal.

This might sound crazy, but it turns out when you feed your best player good things happen. Aaron Jones got 26 touches in this one amounting for 156 yards and a score. He was awesome and that kind of ground game allowed big plays to happen down the field. The man behind all of those was rookie Christian Watson who finally broke out. Not one TD…

Not two…

But THREE touchdowns!

His rookie year has been plagued with nagging injury after nagging injury, but the kid put his gifted speed to use today and came through in a huge way.

While it’s always a plus being on the other side of a Mike McCarthy coached team, Matt LaFleur did his best to impersonate him on the Packers’ sidelines. Green Bay’s D came up with a massive stop after  Watson’s game tying touchdown, which set up Rodgers and the offense for a potential game winning drive. With two timeouts and the ball on their own 33, the Packers decided to run the ball twice and essentially wind the clock, taking their chances in OT. It was a horrific display of clock mismanagement as they were basically playing to not lose after some of their best offensive drives of the season. We’ve seen Rodgers go down the field for a late field goal with no time left plenty of times. What were they thinking?  They ended up winning the game, but my god was that bad.

This is the first Packers win in over a month. Coming into the game the Brewers had actually earned a win more recently than Green Bay. Milwaukee didn’t even make the playoffs. Things are still very dire and the season’s heart beat is hanging on by a thread, but it’s always nice to beat the Cowboys.
