Tennessee's Seniors Not Wanting To Leave The Field After Their Final Home Game Will Make You Emotional

This is what college football is all about.

Every senior day is always a special occassion for the players that are part of it, but I can only imagine what was going through the heads of these Tennessee seniors after their 66-24 win over Missouri. Their first game in Neyland Stadium was a loss to Georgia State. In their sophomore year, Tennessee went 3-7 and fired Jeremy Pruitt. Then more than 30 players, including what were thought to be many of the best players in that class, left the program.

Now as seniors, the Vols are 9-1 and potentially just a few weeks away from competing in the College Football Playoff. I'd take as long as I was allowed at midfield, too.

That video is cool regardless of what school you root for, but it made me a little bit emotional. What that senior class has been able to accomplish after how their careers started is nothing short of extraordinary. If Josh Heupel is able to maintain some semblance of this level of success in Knoxville — or hell, if the Vols just go ahead and win the whole damn thing this season — these seniors will always be remembered as the guys who helped bring Tennessee football back.

However this season ends, those guys have done more than anyone could have ever imagined. Hopefully there are a few more road and neutral site wins ahead of them.
