Holy fucking shit, what a fight! That was everything we hoped it would be and more coming into tonight - just pure, unadulterated balls-to-the-wall violence start to finish - an all out slobberknocker for the ages. AN INSTANT CLASSIC!

Poirier and Chandler had each other rocked BAD in the first, Chandler put his wrestling on display in the second and secured a slam takedown that Poirier couldn't get up from, and then Poirier took control of the third when these warriors got back on their feet and eventually got in position for a rear-naked choke. I think Chandler used up most of his energy in the first and second trying to submit Poirier (NOT an easy task) and Poirier capitalized in a big, bad, way.

If you didn't watch this fight live, you also missed out on seeing blood POURING out of Chandler's nose and onto Poirier's face, which was....disgusting.

Dustin Poirier could now be in a position to earn the next title shot against the winner of Islam Makhachev/Alexander Volkanovski, if he wants to wait around for the dust to settle on that....

….and while Michael Chandler didn't come away with the win tonight, I think it's fair to say his stock is as high as ever with the fanbase; even tho he fishhook'd Poirier tonight….
