Dan Hooker Is Back In The Win Column After A Weird Ass Fight

To quote President George W. Bush, "That was some weird shit."

I think a lot of hardcore MMA fans considered this one of the fights we looked forward to the most tonight, as there were plenty of questions about Dan Hooker we needed answering, but it did NOT live up to the hype at all - to no fault of Dan Hooker.

Claudio Puelles seemingly had no interest in competing in a mixed martial arts bout against Hooker tonight, so he tried to turn it into a jiu-jitsu match with repeated takedown/heel hook/tripping attacks. He caught Dan off guard and snatched up a leg with the first attempt, but Hooker got out of that before too long, and after that, Puelles just kept coming up with nothing.

Every time Puelles would try to bring the fight to the ground, the crowd at The Garden would get more and more restless, and eventually they just started chanting "YOU'RE A PUSSY" at him. That's gotta be tough to hear mid-fight.

Dan Hooker eventually got the win, though, when the ref decided he had seen enough - and I think he looked pretty great in the process. Happy for the guy. Could The Hangman be BACK?!
