Chargers LB Kyle Van Noy Proves Dick Jokes Are Fun For All Ages

ESPN  -- Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. and left guard Matt Feiler hoisted rookie kicker Cameron Dicker onto their shoulders in celebration at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Moments earlier, Dicker converted a 37-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Chargers to a 20-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

"I was happy for him," James said after the game. "That's what makes the NFL cool. When your number is called, you got to make the play for the team."

Only four days earlier, Dicker canceled his plans to attend a Carrie Underwood concert in his hometown of Austin, Texas, so he could dash to the airport to catch a last-minute flight to Los Angeles, where the Chargers wanted to sign him.

"It's been wild," Dicker said of his week. "It's been fun."

I'm not here to break down how great a story this was for Cameron Dicker, or how bad a loss this was for The Falcons, who could have stayed atop the NFC South with a win. I have no real interest in breaking down this game from an X's and O's standpoint.

What I will break down is how no matter the age, size, race, religion , or financial status of a man...he will find Dick jokes funny.

Case and point Chargers LB Kyle Van Noy and his teammates being super giggly when realizing their new kickers name was "Dicker the Kicker". A split between pure joy, and determination. Pure joy in the sense that they now had a plethora of material to work with in the dick joke department, and determination to find out the new jokes or punchlines that haven't been created yet.

Reminds me of the Sopranos scene when the Penile Implant doctor keeps telling the card game "Trust me I've heard them all" and Paulie keeps trying to create a new one, and the doctor keeps getting frustrated.

You know these guys have spent the week trying to make another joke this poor kicker hasn't heard for the last 20 years of his life. Maybe they can take a one from the rolodex John Moxon had and create a new one, because he sure had them nailed down.
