Philly Sports, It Just Means More: Man Is Willing To Lose His Family And Job For The Phillies To Win

Oh hell yeah, Dave. That's what I'm talking about, brother.

Bryce Harper said it best the other week. "If you've got Phillies across your chest and you're a fan, you're a part of our team and you fight with us each day". There might be 26 guys actually playing the game, but it takes everybody to go on a run like this. It takes the managers, it takes the scouts, it takes the folks in the ticket sales department, it takes the people in the game day operations department, it takes the concession workers, it takes the parking lot attendants, and it sure as shit takes all the fans giving it everything they got until there's nothing left to give.

Your job? Your wife? Your kids? I'm sorry but when's the last time we had a parade down Broad St for any of them? A late, great philosopher once said that "some things are bigger than sports". But other things aren't. Especially not when we've got a World Series on the line. And I'm just glad we'll have guys like Dave in the ballpark tonight for game 3 to raise all the hell possible to give the Phils an edge in the series. Dave is a legend.

Sidenote: You can always tell when people are playing it up for the camera when they get a microphone in front of their face. Dave's not doing that here. He means every word he said. Said? Said!
