Looking For The Perfect Halloween Movie? Here's The 25 Best ALL TIME

I'm delighted to join this week's Snake Draft as we step outside or normal comfort zone and bring in three experts. Last time we went down this route it was for the Wrestling Entrance draft a couple years back and that was marvelous. Couple observations as we go back to the 3-man weave:

- Richard Roeper is a true critic and professional. It's so cool to bounce questions off his brain and get all his different perspectives about the movie. Sure maybe Jack Nicklaus had better shit going on when he got The Shining script. But who turns down a Kubrick? Apparently nobody.

- The experts don't like CGI for scary movies and I tend to agree. Maybe the most interesting critical point discussed on today's show.

- Robbie gets a lot of credit for knowing his nerd stuff inside and out. But he deserves a lot more credit for the relatability. It's not that he knows the source material as much as he knows how to use it. Another dominating performance and probably the recipient of the highest praise towards the end of the draft.

- I struggled transitioning from 2nd to 3rd round thinking about "scary" movies. I went into the draft thinking we were taking the "scariest" but it seemed more like "the best scary" which is a critical distinction. You may think otherwise but I see the difference being in overall quality vs. emphasis on terror. There's plenty of examples of great scary movies that don't move the needle that much for me. I made a couple of solid pivots in later rounds. But again I find myself in a shifting sandbox.

- I mean this respectfully. Ken Jac doesn't strike me as a guy who gets scared during movies. Just way too much experience and working knowledge of the set props and designs. Like you see a guy's head get cut off in one scene. He sees a loose wire and sloppy production. Reminded me of an old high school football coach talking about the Bears line play.

- The best scary movie of my lifetime is Scream. That's not up for debate. It had the best twist and hottest babes and came out at the perfect time. I had a chance to make my move on Scream and I botched it. Complete misread on my end but that's going to happen when you've got such a passionate category.

- We talked about this movie briefly but not in the depth that I would have imagined when I first saw Hostel in 2005. No problem leaving that one off the board but can we at least bring back this scene for a minute

I repeat NSFW

So messed up but also just a terrible movie. That brings me back to the intersection of scariest vs. best scary.

Scariest? Absolutely never staying in a low cost Hostel in Eastern Europe any time since. But again this movie blows.

- I probably owe my dad an apology. He's not scary enough to breakdown and slaughter our entire family. But he does have some Michael Douglas Falling Down in him and you want to manage that the best you can. Same time he would tell you that raising me would have turned anyone.
