(NBC Sports) - As Steph Curry's age continues to become more of a talking point, the 34-year-old reached out to a legend familiar with staving off Father Time: Tom Brady.

Speaking with NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke at Warriors Media Day, the Warriors star explained his mindset as he approaches the latter stages of his career and revealed what the 45-year-old quarterback told him.

"Coming into my career, 16 years was always the goal," Curry told Burke. "But times have changed and I feel like, obviously I know I can extend my prime. I'm still in my prime -- I'm trying to extend it as long as I can.”

Considering how sports medicine has changed over the years and with players finding more efficient ways to prolong their careers, that is why he approached Brady -- arguably the greatest football player of all time -- to pick his brain on how to approach the next few years.

"But the way that you do that and talking to the ultimate prime extender in Tom Brady, I talked to him a little bit. And just basically, it sounds cliche, but you literally just [ask], 'What are you going to do this year to do it?' " Curry said.

Curry added that with each passing year, Brady told him to ask himself the same question and answer accordingly. That way, the Warriors star can stay in the present and be mindful of his current situation, as opposed to what might or might not happen.

Are you someone who is hoping that the Warriors Dynasty would go away? Did your favorite basketball team maybe have their hearts ripped out and shoved down their throat by Steph Curry not once, but twice on their own floor to lose an NBA title? Are you maybe the fan of a Western Conference contender that has never been able to get over the hump since this Warriors run first started over 7 years ago?

If so, we have some bad news. Steph isn't going away anytime soon. In fact, he's probably never even going to decline before he decides to hang it up for good. Once you hit up Tom Brady and he gives you the secrets to his longevity, it's a wrap. This has me in a bit of a pickle because I LOVE watching Steph Curry play basketball and I hope he never retires. I don't know how anyone could watch this shit

and not feel the same way. There aren't too many players in the league that when they go on a run, you have to immediately stop whatever you are doing and watch them play. Steph puts asses in seats and then some with how he plays the game. Even though we're all used to it by now, it's still must watch stuff every single time. That's why he's an all time great.

At the same time, my heart is still broken over what he did to me in June. That shit haunts me every single day whenever I close my eyes. All I see is this

I still can't watch the Game 4 highlights even though it was one of the best NBA Finals performances we've ever witnessed. Way too painful.

So, now that I know Steph is getting secrets from Tom Brady, it makes it pretty clear that if I ever do want to see my favorite team reach the top of the mountain, they're probably going to have to go through Steph. Listen, hate the Warriors all you want but if there's one thing we know it's that if they have their core healthy during a playoff run, you can pretty much lock them into the Finals. Shit, you could probably pencil in them as the winners since they won't be facing LeBron in the Finals. I guess we'll see what they look like in the event Draymond is no longer part of the equation, but what truly matters is what version of Steph and Klay they have and if we're going to get 6-7 more years of Steph at this level then we're all fucked.

While I know 16 seasons was his goal, I think it's fair to expect that as long as he remains healthy we should see Steph join that elusive club of 20+ years with the same franchise. Dirk is at the top with 21 seasons as a Mav, but then there's Kobe (20), Udonis Haslem (20…but kind of doesn't count), Stockton (19), and Duncan (19). Pretty decent list if you ask me. As of now Steph is entering Year 14 in his age 34/35 season (turns 35 in March) and luckily for him shooting tends to age well. He may not be running off screens in his late 30s or early 40s, but when you have his type of range and shooting ability, you can still be effective.

We're all better off now accepting the reality that just like how Tom Brady refuses to go away, the same is going to be true of Steph. That's both awesome and extremely annoying all at the same time.
