Everyone's Take About The Roughing The Passer Is Wrong Except For Me. No, The OTHER Roughing The Passer (Davante Adams Shoving A Cameraman That Was Passing By)

I'm an absolute neutral party here as a Bears fan who sometimes cheats and roots for the Buffalo Bills. But the hate on Davante Adams last night was out of control. I must be taking crazy pills as everyone seems to be looking for Adams' head to be suspended. But I can't help notice that everyone is flat wrong and stupid and I'm the only one that's smart and right.

Here's the main video going around showing a misleading angle. FTR: I totally get Big Cat's point here and as a somewhat less neutral party I think if anyone deserves to be suspended or put in jail for Monday night's infraction, it's clearly Aaron Rodgers.

Yes - the above angle looks bad, but let's get a view closer to what Adams was seeing:

The facts are clear from the above angle. Davante Adams was looking down walking through the tunnel and minding his own damn business when out of nowhere:

Crazy camera guy rushes right past him in a surprise accidental attack. For all Adams knew dude was some crazed Chiefs fan looking to do him harm in the .0001 seconds he had to react. Would I have liked Adams to at least have helped the guy up? Sure, but in his defense he was being ushered forward by team personnel and given the fact that this all occurred in the blink of an eye, I definitely buy him not fully realizing his instincts fucked up before it was too late to awkwardly go back.

I mean Jesus, it's not like he sought the guy out. And how the hell is no one calling camera guy out for having zero clue where he was? But hey, I'm glad you all think you'd see some random dude running straight through you while you're wearing a football helmet and looking down. Give me a break.

Moving on. Let's review Davante's apology real quick:

That's how a public apology is done. Don't wait until asked about the incident. Show everyone you know you fucked up and it's on your mind. What the hell more can you ask? Also, how many times do we hear dirty NFL players like Suh, Donald, Suh, Garrett, Suh, and Suh apologize to their team while blatantly ignoring the people they actually assaulted on the field? Not Davante. He manned the fuck up.

If the NFL suspends Adams for literally just reacting to some bozo with a madden awareness level of zero it'll make Chris Jones' penalty only the second worst "Roughing the Passer" call of the night. OK, maybe not THAT bad, but I'm trying to make a point here. This was a nothing burger. Let Davante Adams be and if an example needs to be made out of anyone I think we can all agree that example should be Aaron Rodgers.
