'As Far As Jimbo's Contract, A Hitman Costs A Lot Less Than That': Texas A&M Fans Are Down BAD

As recently as a couple months ago, Texas A&M fans thought they had their guy. Jimbo Fisher nearly had the Aggies in the College Football Playoff in 2020, beat Alabama last year and then brought in the No. 1 recruiting class in the country this offseason.

Clearly, things have changed.

What a line from Roger in Texas. Obviously it's an insane thing to say, but he's also not wrong. A&M would owe Fisher nearly $90 million (American) if it fired him without cause today and that amount doesn't go down by too much any time soon. While my knowledge of the hitman market is admittedly limited, I'd imagine there's a solid hitman out there who could be had for a fraction of that.

To pour salt into A&M fans' wounds, last week's 42-24 loss to Mississippi State brought Fisher's record as the Aggies' head coach to 37-16 — the exact same record Kevin Sumlin had through his first 63 games in College Station.

It's only a matter of when Jimbo gets his bag and how much it will be, because I don't see any way he makes it to the end of that contract. Maybe this will finally be the one that makes schools stop giving out these asinine deals to anyone who's ever had a decent season before. It won't be, but there's always a chance.

As for Roger, I need someone to make sure he stays in the house for the next few weeks or something. I'm as big a due process guy as you'll find, but that's legitimate pre-crime.
