Tickets for Friday's HIGH SCHOOL Football Game Between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco Are Going for $150 Each
The two best high school football teams in the country are squaring off on Friday when the No. 1 St. John Bosco Braves visit the No. 2 Mater Dei Monarchs. The two teams have a combined 70 players with FBS scholarship offers, including Bosco 5-star DE Matayo Uiagalelei — brother of current Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei.
The schools will square off at the 9,000-seat Santa Ana Stadium, making the game the hottest ticket in Southern California this weekend. Tickets sold out in minutes Monday morning and if you want to try to get into the game now, it's going to cost you a pretty penny.
You can currently get into Cowboys-Rams at SoFi Stadium this Sunday for $178 on Gametime, so there are people in L.A. who will pay more this weekend to go to a high school game than an NFL game featuring the defending Super Bowl champs and the most valuable franchise in professional sports.
St. John Bosco offered to actually play the game against Mater Dei at SoFi — which would have obviously fixed these ticket problems — but Mater Dei declined and opted to retain home field.
I would have loved to see how many fans these teams could have gotten into an NFL stadium for this game, but it seems like it will be a great atmosphere regardless. Anyone who buys a ticket at this point clearly really wants to be there.
