Ronald Acuña Caught the Final Out to Clinch the NL East in the Same Spot Where He Tore His ACL Last Year

With the Braves just one out away from a fifth straight NL East title on Tuesday, Jordan Groshans lofted a Kenley Jansen cutter to right field. And in a fitting moment of poetic justice, Ronald Acuña Jr. was there to catch the ball just a couple steps in front of the warning track where he tore his ACL last July.

I'm sure Ronald hoped to have a little bit better season than he had this year — even though his off year coming off an injury is still one plenty of players would kill for — but ending it like that was perfect. His battles with the Marlins have been well-documented for his entire career, so seeing him have that moment in the same spot where his potential MVP season ended was awesome.

The Braves won the World Series last season without Acuña, who's unquestionably the best player on the team when he's at full-strength. Hopefully he shows out in the postseason and gets to catch another important final out in about a month.
