The Braves Officially Come Back From 10.5 Games Behind the Mets to Clinch Their Fifth Straight Division Title

On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the reigning World Champion Atlanta Braves clinched their fifth straight NL East title and MLB-record 22nd division title overall. Contrary to popular belief, the NL East race was not over on June 1.

I'll have a full recap blog tomorrow of every Mets tweet you could want from April to October when they thought they had the division locked up, but for now, let's just enjoy what an amazing season the Braves had. From 23-27 through two months to 101 wins and an all-time comeback to take down a fellow 100-win team in the Mets.

I hesitate to even say this, but this might feel as good and possibly better than winning the World Series. Last October was a magical four-week ride that I wouldn't trade for anything, but I have been praying on this Mets team's downfall for six months. This feels amazing.

Now it's time to rest up and get ready for the NLDS. Imagine having to win a best-of-three series this weekend just to get to the Division Series? Absolutely could not be my team.

This season rocked and the Braves are heading into the postseason with as good a chance as anybody to take home a second straight World Series title. Chop on.
