The Philadelphia Eagles Defense Forced Trevor Lawrence To Fumble More Times Than Any Other Player This CENTURY

What a preposterous stat.

It was a torrential downpour in Philly today. The rain got started well before the opening kickoff of this game and it didn't stop the whole time. But think about how many NFL games have been played in the rain during the 21st century. I don't have an exact number in front of me but I'd assume it's somewhere around the ballpark of a shit ton. And out of every single game played in the 21st century, rain or shine, NOBODY has ever fumbled the ball more than Trevor Lawrence dropped the ball today.

Not 1.

Not 2.

Not 3.

But 4 fumbles on the day for that greasy fingered son of a gun.

And sure, you can attribute the rain to that first fumble. I'm sure it even played a role in that botched snap for the 2nd. But holy shit was Haason Reddick getting after it today to force fumbles 3 and 4. What a game out of this defense. This Eagles team is so loaded all over the field it's stupid. One day it could be Jalen Hurts to absolutely bury a team. One day it could be AJ Brown. One day it could be DeVonta Smith. One day it could be Miles Sanders. One day it could be Darius Slay. One day it could be Haason Reddick. One day it could be James Bradberry.

It doesn't matter who it is. All that matters is that the Eagles have some certified playmakers and somebody is going to step up every week. There are too damn many of them on this roster for a team to possibly shut them all down.

And the timing of some of these turnovers were huuuuge. The first fumble of the game was the exact momentum shift the Eagles needed to turn the game around early. Shit was looking ABYSMAL in the 1st quarter. But they get that fumble (Jacksonville would have turned it over on downs anyway but a fumble recovery always feels better) and immediately turn it into their first points of the day. That Bradberry touchdown was just as Jacksonville was piecing together a great drive in the 3rd quarter and could have given themselves some life back. That last Haason Reddick strip sack was just as Trevor Lawrence had one more chance to lead the Jags down the field to tie the game late in the 4th. Goddamn I love this Eagles team so much.

Four and oh, baby. Go Birds.
