THE DROUGHT IS OVER! Cal Raleigh Blasts a Walk Off Bomb To Send The Mariners To The Playoffs For The First Time In Over 20 Years

THAT. WAS. AWESOME.

What a moment, what a call, what a team. The Seattle Mariners are going to the playoffs for the first time since 2001 after Cal Raleigh's pinch hit bomb to walk it off against the A's. Dude who goes by the nickname Big Dumper just ended the longest active playoff drought in sports. How can you not be romantic about baseball?

Man, it's seemed like year after year we'd get tricked into a Mariners team that maybe had what it took to get to October baseball only for it sputter out around August. Not in 2022. The Mariners are getting their first taste of playoff baseball for the first time in two decades.

Let me tell you right now, this team is SCARY. There isn't a team in baseball that wants to play the Seattle Mariners in the postseason. You've got a three headed horse of a pitching staff in Luis Castillo, Logan Gilbert, and Robbie Ray with George Kirby as the fourth. They've got an offense that can MASH when they're right (just ask Gerrit Cole) with guys like Julio Rodriguez, Ty France, and Mitch Haniger. Their bullpen is deep with arms as well that keep coming at you. They're young, naive, and dangerous. After a long ass wait they're back in and I'm ecstatic for that fanbase. Helluva job by Scott Servais this year to put it all together.

Let the party begin in Seattle. You thought that Toronto celly earlier today was fun? Just wait for these guys to pop the champagne tonight. Well deserved.
