Dave Portnoy Will Try To Make It Two In A Row As He Battles Eric Hosmer This Week In The Show Fantasy League

It's Week 2 of The Show and after a topsy turvy Week 1, I'm anticipating that water starts to find it's level here in Week 2. Here are the matchups:

Patrick Mahomes had an underwhelming Thursday Night game and. Najee Harris is coming off a gross looking injury. He is slated to play, but I'd question his effectiveness against a stout Patriots D. Chase Claypool TD was what Jersey Jerry saw coming last night in The Signs, and Wil Myers will need that as going against Christian McCaffrey in PPR is always scary! Aaron Jones will need a big game, but I like Kyle Pitts to bounce back from last week's stinker. It will likely come down to Monday night as Wil has Devin Singletary and Napoli has Jalen Hurts, but I like Napoli to edge him out and move to .500 on the year.

A tough blow for Joc Pederson, Alex Wood, & Austin Barnes with Alvin Kamara a late scratch. But I actually think this may help him as it moved AJ Dillon from the bench and I like his matchup a lot better than Kamara's. Dillon showed last week he can thrive in a PPR league too, so his squad with Michael Thomas and Amon-Ra St. Brown becomes even more dangerous. Carson Wentz is starting at QB for an injured Dak Prescott and we'll see if he can steady the ship for the current last placed team. Defending Champion Alex Bregman had a rough start to the week with JuJu Smith-Schuster underperforming his projection by 9.4 points. He'll need a big game from Derek Carr and Darren Waller to help make up for that. But I think it'll be too much with Cook'n with Kamara to win without their namesake today.

Commissioner Cheah's Pick: Cook'n With Kamara

Manager Dave Portnoy has been great so far with his QB carousel, playing Matt Ryan over Tom Brady in Week 1, this week benching TB12 for Kirk Cousins. Matt Ryan is without his top 2 WRs, so we'll see how this one plays out for Davey Pageviews! With JK Dobbins out, he'll be playing Breece Hall and Antonio Gibson who I both think are solid PPR plays. Eric Hosmer is trotting out Aaron Rodgers against the Bears team he owns, but his rough start from his 1st rounder, Travis Kelce on Thursday Night undershooting his projection by 5.9 points certainly hurts. I think this will be a toss up as Rodgers is dangerous with 6-point passing TDs and will come down to Monday Night with Dave having Cousins, Stefon Diggs, and Greg Joseph going and Hosmer having Adam Thielen, and Jake Elliott awaiting their primetime affair. I can see Hosmer out to a big lead after Sunday but Dave pulling through on Monday Night.

Austin Ekeler really helped out Manny Machado on the last drive with a couple big catch and runs that helped him tread some water in this matchup vs. Mike Trout. Gabe Davis' projection is 0.0 despite just a questionable tag, but I actually like Trout's team who should be an underdog in projections. I think his big four of Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb, DJ Moore, and Courtland Sutton all have big days. Another one that'll come down to Monday Night with Machado having both his WRs (AJ Brown & Davis) while Trout has King Henry and Dallas Goedert, I like The Kid to come out on top this week.

Commissioner Cheah's Pick: The Kid

I heard from a little birdie that there was a Call of Duty beta out this weekend, so Kyler Murray is probably pretty tired. I think Leonard Fournette will have a good game, but Marshon Lattimore has given Mike Evans problems historically. Mike Williams had a monster game on Thursday night beating his projection by 10.9 points, but Jake Marisnick had good fortune on TNF as well with Josh Palmer and Gerald Everett both outperforming their projections by a combined 6.2 points. I like Marisnick in this one with a dynamite trio of Josh Allen, D'Andre Swift, and Saquon Barkley going, but another one that'll likely come down to Monday Night Football with Allen going.

Two powerhouse teams coming off Week 1 wins. Julio Jones was in Sunday Funday's Starting Lineup 30 minutes ago, but with him being a late scratch, he's got to start Tyler Boyd which is his WR4 since Keenan Allen was OUT on Thursday. Based on that, it's hard not to like Moustakas, but the Dolphins gave Lamar Jackson a ton of problems last year in a 22-10 win. But Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill are as ELITE WR combo that should push Moose to a W.
