After a final drive which included an interception that was overturned due to a targeting away from the play and a fumble returned for a touchdown that was overturned to a sack after review, Cal had one Hail Mary attempt as time expired to score the potentially game-tying touchdown against Notre Dame. Jeremiah Hunter found himself on the ground with the ball fluttering perfectly into his hands and ... somehow didn't come up with it.
That's absolutely brutal. Cal fans are going to be watching that play for a long, long time. But Notre Dame got its first win under Marcus Freeman, albeit by the absolute skin of its teeth.
