Through three quarters last week, it looked like Notre Dame might be a legit College Football Playoff contender. Now it looks like the Irish might be lucky to play in a bowl game.
Marshall went into South Bend as a 20.5-point underdog and simply outclassed Notre Dame. Khalan Laborn ran all over ND to the tune of 163 yards and a touchdown and the Marshall defense forced Irish quarterbacks Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne into three interceptions.
The Thundering Herd trailed for a bit in the fourth quarter, but seemed like the better team for the entire game. They capped off a 94-yard drive with the go-ahead touchdown with 5:16 to go and added a pick six immediately after to seal the deal.
Pray for your Notre Dame fan friends. Down tremendously.
