BIG FOE DOING BIG THINGS! We've got an American man in the US Open semis for the first time since 2006!

Frances Tiafoe had to do two things today in order to beat Andrey Rublev and advance to the semifinals —serve well and attack the Russian's weak second serve. He did both of those exceptionally well today and as a result controlled the match from start to finish. What a performance for the second time in three days from this man.

I'm telling you this truly could not be happening to a better guy. I'm typing this blog smiling from ear to ear watching him get interviewed by the ESPN crew right now. Just an awesome moment for a fantastic human who has come from so little as I detailed in my blog the other day.

His game has grown to levels many thought would never happen. Today he took it to Andrey Rublev, a top 10 ranked player, and never let the Russian have an inch. Whenever Rublev gained a potential break point, Tiafoe shut it down. He was unbeatable around the net with his touch.

When it came to the second set tiebreak, he actually couldn't have played it any better

And about this return winner to close out the set??

In the 3rd he finally broke Rublev to cruise to the victory

I thought maybe one of Taylor Fritz, Sebastian Korda or Tommy Paul might be the one to break through this far in a slam but nope it's Frances Tiafoe putting it all together at the perfect time. He'll get the winner of tonight's match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. You're gonna want to tune into that one. Semifinals Friday night with an American man on the court. That crowd on Ashe is going to be JUICED for this man.
