Ciryl Gane KOs Tai Tuivasa In His Home Of Paris, France

Tonight's UFC card in Paris, France - the organization's first card in France EVER, as mixed martial arts only became legal on June 24th, 2019 - could not have gone better, capped off with an amazing main event between Ciryl Gane and Tai "Bam Bam" Tuivasa.

Honestly, there were times I was getting shades of the UFC London card in March tonight between the French fighters coming up big and the crowd going INSANE all night!

As I mentioned earlier, this heavyweight clash in our main event exceeded all expectations - I believe many people thought Gane would just dominate Tai for five straight rounds, but Bam Bam came to fight!

After a competitive first round, Tuivasa dropped Gane BADLY in the second (and Gane said in his post-fight interview he was completely KO'd) only to get up and rock Tai with body shots moments later!

Shades of Pat Barry vs Cheick Kongo! Not quite as insane, though - obviously.

Tai took his loss like a warrior, both inside the cage, going out on his shield, and during his brief post-fight interview - but you still gotta feel for him. It really looked like he was about to shock the world in the second round before things turned around!

On the other hand, you can't help but feel happy for Ciryl Gane and that French crowd. Gane's timing on the final sequence was so perfect, it was beautiful. He landed the perfect "bink" uppercut (shoutout Robin Black) to kick it off, and then just swarmed our guy.

I would be shocked if the UFC wasn't right back in Paris by next year after how well tonight went. Shoutout Benoit Saint Denis as well!
