This was supposed to be my guy's big break. The cameras are rolling, the vibes are high, you've got single coverage. Who knows what could happen from here. You deliver a strike downfield for 6 on a televised broadcast and maybe the Eagles catch wind of that toss. Maybe you get invited to a tryout. At the very least there's a college coach watching the pregame show just looking for his next big recruit. These are the moments you dream of. One moment you're just chilling with the boys in the Xfinity lot, the next moment you could be on your way to NFL stardom. And then....
Major oof. And as if the throw wasn't bad enough on its own, the reporter delivered the final dagger to this young man's hopes and dreams with just 6 words--"ah nah it's a terrible pass". Harsh, but fair. He had one chance to put something great on tape, and he went full Uncle Rico. You never go full Uncle Rico.
I'll tell you what though--I think this all comes down to a miscommunication between the QB and the receiver. He's looking for the home run post route, receiver goes with the curl. It's preseason for everybody, they just haven't developed that chemistry yet. Better luck next time.
