Meatball Molly Is Fighting At Madison Square Garden In November!

BOOM! Our girl ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann said she wanted a fight at Madison Square Garden after her last win at UFC London, and a fight at the Garden she has received! It’ll be Molly McCann vs emerging flyweight prospect Erin Blanchfield on November 12th at UFC 281 at the Mecca! It's a really tough fight - no doubt about that - but we're talking about the girl with the most dangerous elbow in combat sports here. I believe.

Erin is ranked ahead of Molly in the Flyweight division at #13 (Molly is currently #15) so a win over Blanchfield will not only boost the Meatball, but could potentially put her in a title shot conversation! Now don’t get me wrong - I wouldn’t expect a shot at Valentina Shevchenko right away with a win here or anything, but in this division, where the champ has basically taken out her top ten (and there aren’t a ton of big names popularity-wise anyway), I think anything can happen.

I'm sure a lot of you are thinking, "Wait a minute, with Molly on this card, does that mean Paddy is fighting at MSG too?!"

While I wish that were the case personally, I don't believe it is. Paddy has been pretty vocal about his disinterest in fighting at the World's Most Famous Arena due to the taxes New York takes out of your paycheck as opposed to London/Nevada/etc. I'm sure he'll be there to support his big sis though, and maybe he'll even get to walk HER out this time!

Like I said, make no mistake about it: Erin Blanchfield is one hell of a fighter and this will be Molly’s biggest challenge to date, but I couldn’t believe in her more. Molly fights like an absolute savage on a mission to kill. She’ll come forward, put Erin on her heels, and bring pressure on pressure on pressure to try to neutralize Blanchfield’s attacks. McCann displayed some impressive takedown defense in her last fight, her boxing is only getting better bout-to-bout, and she's training more than ever, so we'll be seeing the best version of the Meatball in November unquestionably.

I'm sure the content around this fight is going to be incredible, with Barstool in the mix the same way we were a few weeks back, and now I can't wait for the card to start forming around this and the main event: Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya vs Alex Pereira for the Middleweight Championship.
