Keith Hernandez Asked To Not Call Any Mets Games Against The Phillies Because He Hates Watching The Phillies Play Awful Defense With Terrible Fundamentals

LMAOOOOOO. Of course Keith Hernandez said that. HE'S KEITH HERNANDEZ!  Not only did that man rule New York City on the most electric baseball team to ever grace the diamond and give mustache rides to Elaine Benes before any of these Fightin' Phils were even born. He did shit like this on his way to winning 11 straight Gold Gloves.

If Keith Hernandez says you stink at defense and fundies, you stink at defense and fundies. That simple.

I'm not even throwing stones either. That poor man had to watch players like Daniel Murphy, Lucas Duda, and a litany of defenders with stone gloves that had no business playing the positions they were playing kick the ball all over Citi Field for years. Hearing Keith sigh as another Mets game went into extra innings which ensured he was going to miss his 10:30 PM reservation at some Sag Harbor restaurant was as much a part of daily life as a Mets fan as cursing the Wilpons' souls.

If that man wants to take a break from watching ugly baseball now that the Mets are a team built like an actual baseball team in all facets of the game, let him! It may piss off the Phillies broadcast that took a subtle swipe at Keith on a play where the Phils didn't offend the Baseball Gods.

Even though Alec Bohm is probably the last player on the Phillies roster to flex with when talking about defense and the Mets...

Anyway, it's nice to have a little juice in an NL East series with the Mets playing the Phillies this weekend. Say what you want about Philly fans throwing snowballs at Santa, cheering Michael Irvin getting injured, etc. No seriously say it, it pisses them off. But after dealing with Braves fans the last few weeks, I look forward to the Phillies fans passion that existed before 2021 and doesn't include nerd terms like BABIP or Exit Velo, as well as crying about luck like third graders.

Plus let's be honest, New York fans and Philly fans are both cut from the same scumbag northeast cloth that grinds through those shitty winters and mutually appreciate a dickhead move like this to a Mets fan that probably deserved it.

So best of luck this weekend, Phillies fans. As a token of good will and no hard feelings, here's that Sixers song that Smitty always ended his blogs with.
