When It Rains It Pours In Cleveland: Kareem Hunt Has Requested A Trade From The Browns
Not now, Kareem. Read the room for me one time. The Browns are in the midst of a legitimate crisis, having traded three 1st round picks, a 3rd rounder, and a 4th rounder for a QB that the entire world wants locked up for being a creep. Not to mention he's probably going to miss the entire year. Not to mention we gave him a fully guaranteed $230 million contract. Browns fans have to do mental gymnastics every single day, balancing the fact that if Deshaun was on any other team in the NFL we'd be right with the rest of the public saying how he should be suspended for life with the fact that we mortgaged our future for the next decade on this guy. So Kareem, could you kindly just shut up and start practicing with the team? We do not have time for this right now.
Besides, you're making $6.25 million this year. That's not chump change for a running back, let alone one that splits carries with Nick Chubb. When you signed that extension two years ago, it made you the 15th highest paid running back in the league. Which brings me to my best point: THE BROWNS GAVE YOU A CHANCE! Let's not forget that in 2019, Kareem Hunt could not find anyone willing to give him a second chance after video surfaced of him bull-rushing and kicking a women in a Cleveland hotel. Side note: Yikes.
The Browns track record of giving people second chances after incidents with women does not look too good right now. But Kareem, the fact that the Browns gave you that chance and then extended you and still want to keep you AND pay you next year should count for something. Yes, you are probably worth more than the final year of your contract at this very moment, but let's not forget why you have that contract. Get on the practice field.
And guys, I just need to say this, I'm sick and tired of all things revolving the Cleveland Browns. Why can't we go one day without drama? From Baker to OBJ to Deshaun to now Kareem Hunt. We might be the worst organization in all of sports and we consistently are on the front page of the news because of how much of a circus we are.
Official stance: I love what Kareem Hunt brings us on the football field. Kareem Hunt needs to shut up and practice. The Browns do need to figure out a way to keep him. And while that sorts itself out, please God, Kareem Hunt Sr, don't make a video about this and post it online. I'm not sure I can take any more of this drama.
