Luke Donald Officially Named European Ryder Cup Captain, Promises Not To 'Do A Henrik' And Get Stripped Of The Title

There's the announcement. Luke Donald will be the captain of a losing European Ryder Cup team. Yeah, I said it. I love our guys. I'm never going to say Europe is going to win. Red, white and blue only baby. But in all honesty, we should win, even in Europe. Our team and younger core are stacked. Look across the roster and we can trot out guys like Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler, Will Zalatoris, Collin Morikawa, Cam Young, Xander and Cantlay. Pretty solid! That's even before you get to guys who have Ryder Cup experience like Simpson, Berger and English. Before guys like Kisner, Burns, Homa and that group. Basically we should dominate the Ryder Cup, no matter the location.

We all know the story with Stenson. He was supposed to be the Ryder Cup captain next year in Italy and got stripped of it when he joined the LIV Tour.

It's obviously all part of the war that is LIV vs PGA. I'm a sucker for the Ryder Cup and don't want to lose it. It's one of my favorite events in all of sports - not just golf. There's something special about that one weekend where you see all these guys come together and you get something like The War by the Shore or The Battle of Brookline. Let these guys show some emotion and have fun. Plus the first tee is as cool as it gets.

So congrats to Luke Donald. He was the 2nd choice and 1st choice after Stenson was stripped of being a captain. Good for him. Now I hope we beat his brains in next year. I want Ryder Cup dominance.
