A Shocking 2022 Update: Michelle Jenneke Made Australia's Commonwealth Games Roster After A Bunch Of Injuries, Still Doing The Pre-Race Shimmy

[Source] - After three years out with serious back and ankle injuries that threatened to bring a premature end to her career, Australian sprint star Michelle Jenneke is set to make a sensational return to action at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Jenneke managed to overcome her injury troubles to secure a spot in Australia’s 85-strong team travelling to the UK for the Games, which officially begins with the Opening Ceremony tonight.

Remember Michelle Jenneke? Let me refresh your memory

Honestly I had no idea she was still racing. She's been an Internet legend for about a decade now. But she's overcome injuries and made the Commonwealth Games roster again.

She even just competed in the World Championships! I had no idea. Hand up. That's called accountability. I also didn't have Michelle Jenneke on my radar on 2022. Other hand up.

I didn't think I'd be blogging about Michelle Jenneke in 2022 unless it was a TBT filler blog, because that gif is an all-time internet gif. But credit where credit is due. Overcoming injuries deserves a round of applause. She could have just stayed a model. She could still be raking in cash doing that. But she wants to compete. Hey 11th in the world is pretty good. I don't care what you do, if you can say you're the 11th best in the world I'd be bragging about that hourly. Not even daily.

Back: Michelle Jenneke.
