Panthers Fans Only Cheered For One QB As Baker Mayfield And Sam Darnold Walked Out Together Today

Well folks, there you have it. Baker Mayfield will be the starting quarterback for your Carolina Panthers in Week 1 when they host THE Cleveland Browns. He's officially the fan favorite, and it's not even close. Those Baker fans were louder than anything that came out of Bank of America Stadium all last year. And not one "Sam" in the entire clip. Honestly, as a human being, it almost made me feel bad for Sam Darnold. But I get it, I was the same way back in 2018 when the Browns took Baker. He's so likable. He's so cool. He plays with so much fire and carries himself with so much swag. He makes it easy to cheer for him....when things are going well. The only problem is that every once in a while, he throws the ball to the other team. In fact, he does it more than every once in a while. He's done it 56 times in the last 4 years, which is the most in the NFL since he was drafted. The only person even close to that number is....Sam Darnold.

But aside from interceptions, Baker is a cool dude. That's why "Baker Bros" are popping out of the woodworks down in Carolina today, holding up their #6 Browns jerseys.

I love it. Baker can take the high road all he wants in his introductory press conferences, but #6 ain't changing for nobody. He can't even see his own Browns jersey without chirping. I can't wait for Week 1. Kinda hope he wins just to see what he says afterwards.
