King Shit For The Golden Generation: USMNT Is Staying At A Ridiculous Resort On A Man-Made Island In Qatar For The World Cup

[Daily mail] - The USA's 2022 World Cup squad will be based in a luxurious Doha hotel where a suite can cost up to $16,500 a night when they arrive for the tournament in Qatar this winter.

Gregg Berhalter's side will live the life of luxury for the duration of the tournament after opting to base themselves on The Pearl, an incredible man-made island extended out onto the water in Doha.

A limousine service will take the players wherever they need to go, while the 'Lady in Red' is on hand at any time to recommend the best restaurants and sights to see around the city.

This is what I needed to hear about on the slowest sports day I can remember in quite some time. Legit there's nothing going on. But this is calming. This lets me know that the USMNT is going to take the World Cup seriously. We could be happy just to qualify and get ready for the 2026 World Cup here in the US. Nope. We're going to live like kings. We're going to live on this man-made island and tell the rest of the world to suck our dicks - though I believe that's illegal in Qatar.

You know what? We should have expectations in the World Cup. This is the start of the golden generation for our soccer development. Everyone is in their prime. The younger teams are qualifying for the Olympics and World Cups. We have depth everywhere coming up and still the best prize might be the 18-year old keeper, Gaga Slonina. Get these guys used to luxury and winning while wearing the red, white and blue. My one complaint might be it's not nice enough. Spend $20k a night instead of $16,500.

I don't want to hear the same old 'we'll be lucky to get out of the group' bullshit. That's been the standard for us in the World Cup. It's now advancing in the knockout stage. It's not getting fucked by the ref on a clear handball and PK against Germany.

It's still such bullshit this is in November though. I'm already having anxiety thinking about Thanksgiving week with the Giants playing, Phil Knight, Maui, Battle 4 Atlantis tournaments, Kentucky/Louisville, USA/England and everything else. But at least the US is taking it serious. Live like kings so they play like kings. Look good, play good.
