MLB Network's Bold Second Half Prediction: Shohei Ohtani Will Be an Atlanta Brave

I've seen some wild rumors in my day. Condoleezza Rice was going to be the GM of the Cleveland Browns. The FCC was going to make you pay for every website you visited if we repealed net neutrality. But this one truly takes the cake.

I genuinely don't think I've ever heard something more ridiculous in my life. I get that it's a "bold prediction,"  but this one blew past bold and left in the dust.

Now, if the Angels are ready to make one of the worst trades in the history of baseball, sign me up. But even if Los Angeles was looking to get rid of a soon-to-be-back-to-back MVP, the Braves don't really have two prospects to rub together at this point — and that's sort of a good thing because most of the young talent that was in the system has graduated from prospects to part of the core in Atlanta, but the minors still need replenishing.  Short of giving up two or three current Major League starters, this is not a realistic trade scenario.

All that said, let's make it happen. Give them Vaughn Grissom, Kyle Muller, Braden Shewmake, Bryce Elder and 10 percent of all revenue at the Wahlburgers, Yard House and Braves Clubhouse Store in The Battery for five years. It just so happens the Angels will be at Truist Park this weekend, so let's go ahead and get this deal done quickly enough that Shohei doesn't have to leave town.
