Mike Trout Weighs In On His New Fantasy Commissioner, Steven Cheah

Apologies for the 3rd person usage, but I wanted to blog this and it was really the only way. Max of the Rocks in the Outfield podcast, which is a weekly Anaheim Angels podcast decided to ask the star CenterFielder his thoughts on me being the new Commissioner of his fantasy football league with a bunch of MLB guys and now Dave Portnoy.

I appreciate his honesty as I am looking forward to meeting all the guys, so the feeling is mutual. If I'm being 100% honest, it's a very interesting sociological experiment as I've been placed in a group text of all very established, wealthy, famous athletes who have a great rapport with each other. I'm a relatively unknown person whose job is to facilitate rules to a made up game that's being played at very high stakes. No knock on Fantasy Football either as it's a game I love immensely, but it's a very interesting task.

Mike Trout was the former commissioner and has done a great job getting the league to this point. I'm thrilled to be able to take the reins and hopefully elevate the profile of the league to a wide audience. The controversy that Trout eludes to in the video has been settled and we now have a new league member. More information on that will come in time, but stay tuned throughout the season for some very fun updates as I'd like to bring this league up close and personal for the common man. But right now, we're still in ironing out the details mode as you can never be too prepared and too clear with the rules and structure of your fantasy football league.

And in the spirit of the Home Run Derby tonight, here is a compilation of Mike Trout hitting some dingers!

UPDATE: Things apparently aren't going as good as when Max taped that interview:
