Call Him Junior: Kenneth Lofton Jr. Is The Basketball Icon That We Were Promised
Are we not overreacting to one Summer League game? I thought that's the whole point of this thing. Let me be very clear, Chet Holmgren was fine last night. He was fucking awesome the first game. It doesn't matter. It's Summer League. Josh Selby and Glen Rice Jr. won Summer League MVP's before.
But this isn't about overreacting. This is about Kenneth Lofton Jr., because Kenneth Lofton Jr. is awesome. He's the icon we were promised. Dude didn't give a shit about Chet Holmgren. Hell, they were teammates before and Lofton stole the show.
I love basketball, I don't think that needs to be said. What needs to be said is we desperately need football back. I can't keep doing the overreaction to every Summer League game and making a determination on a player. I can't keep doing NBA Twitter and who has or hasn't called Kevin Durant. This is the worst time of the sports year - fuck you, FIFA.
But you know what? I want to talk about Kenneth Lofton Jr. The dude showed his game - and he has actual NBA talent. Can step back and shoot, bully ball, good hands, good post moves. I need him in the NBA. We need more beefy basketball players (that play, Zion). Plus he's perfect in Memphis. Baby ZBo basically.
The interview is A+ too. Call him Junior, that's what he wants. Also just didn't give a shit about Chet Holmgren. He's going to go out and dominate.
