More Importantly We Now Need College Basketball To Quickly Figure Out Its Conferences And Not Ruin The NCAA Tournament

We know this is going on, it's been talked about on Twitter by quite literally everyone. But we're only seeing it from a college football standpoint, because, well, football rules America. However, I'm a basketball guy. That's where my mind goes. What's going to happen from here on out in that sport that I love. The sport that I blog about. The sport that I maybe podcast about - not sure there.

But if this happens, mayhem is going to fall everywhere. Why not create our own college basketball conferences? We already have 360 teams. We already have conferences that don't exist in college football - looking at the Big East. This is where we need to start cutting teams quite frankly. We just don't 360 teams. I want Cinderella but why not have, I don't know, 250 teams in Division I. That should be step 1.

Step 2 is adapting. The ACC is going to get absorbed by the SEC. It's an arms race now. Clemson, FSU, Miami, etc all make sense for the SEC to go after. I mean The Alliance is dead:

Has anyone ever watched The Challenge or reality tv? This was destined to fail. The moment they remember money is at stake, the alliance always crumbles. Anyways, this is my fear now. What happens to the NCAA Tournament. That's the event that everyone knows and goes crazy for. What happens when there are 4 SuperConferences and then all 'mid-majors.'

I know everyone is freaking out about college football because of the history side. But someone needs to figure out college basketball. College football will always have the regular season and 4-team playoff and all that. College basketball needs some direction now.

More importantly someone get a camera on Bill Walton and break the news to him.
