Wow. So incredibly sad. Awful, awful news to wake up to.
Jaylon Ferguson was drafted in the 3rd round by the Ravens in 2019 out of Louisiana Tech. He affectionately referred to himself as the "Sack Daddy" after setting the FBS career record for sacks with 45. 2022 presented a big opportunity for him as a make or break year where he might solidify himself as a guy who might stick long-term in the league. Obviously now we'll never know.
But none of that matters. Jaylon leaves behind a son and a daughter at the far too young age of 26. He was a brother, a partner, and a friend to so many. There's just not much that can be said in a scenario like this. It's just heart-breaking, man. And it seems to be happening far too often in this league. The cause of death is unknown at this point, but I don't really think that matters either. Thoughts definitely go out to those close to him as they mourn his sudden passing.
RIP Sack Daddy.
