HBO Is Developing A Jon Snow Sequel Series To Game Of Thrones

THR- You know nothing about HBO’s post-Game of Thrones plans. The network has entered into early development on its first sequel to its blockbuster fantasy drama: A live-action spin-off series centered on the fan-favorite character Jon Snow, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Kit Harington is attached to reprise the role should a series move forward. The actor was twice nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of an action-hero who struggles to uphold his family’s noble values in a brutal world.

I put on a wig, read this story, and recorded my reaction live:

I think we can all agree that Benioff & Weiss crashed the fuck out of the landing of Thrones, killed everyone on the plane, and caused everyone who saw that fiery hell unravel in slow motion to never want to fly again. At least without George R.R. Martin piloting everything, which I don't think he'd do for this show considering HE HASN'T EVEN WRITTEN THE BOOKS TO CLOSE OUT THE REGULAR GAME OF THRONES SERIES LET ALONE A SEQUEL SERIES.

But still, Game of Thrones was really, really, really, really ridiculously good before those last couple of seasons and Kit Harrington playing Jon Snow was a huge part of that. Him going up North with the wildings at the end of the finale doesn't really seem like the most interesting thing in the world and if you thought Jon Snow was a mopey motherfucker in Thrones, just wait until you see him after the second love of his life died in his hands, this time because he murdered her ass to save the world after he found out he was the rightful heir to the throne the whole time instead of some bastard child that was hated by his adopted mother. 

However this is the closest thing we can get to a redo for Season 8 and I'd love to see the whole crew or at least a good chunk of the crew get back together. Mainly Jon and Tormund fucking shit up together since that was fun. Maybe one of the Stark sisters can drop by here and there while I'd prefer Sam go nowhere NEAR this series. And of course we need to see how much Westeros is thriving under the rule of its one true king, Bran The Broken!

Ahhhh who am I kidding? If House of the Dragon is good, I'll definitely give this Jon Snow show a shot. Shit, even if House of the Dragon sucks I will probably still watch it considering how many Star Wars movies I kept watching after the original trilogy despite them constantly kicking me directly in the dick. Plus it's not like they can do much to tarnish the original series considering Thrones completely bungling the last season or two is the one thing people can actually agree on these days.

So I'm just gonna hope this show doesn't suck and that George R.R. Martin can find time in his busy schedule of blogging to churn out as much content as possible for this new show as long as he is still kicking because it's crazy to think about just how great this series was when it was humming on all cylinders.
