HOLY FUCK!! WEILI ZHANG WITH A SPINNING BACKFIST FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL!! 

I’m on vacation watching the fights on my phone at a nice restaurant (haven’t missed a second of the card, nbd) and it just took everything outta me not to let out a Joe Rogan esque “OHHHHHHHHH” from the table.

Zhang/Joanna’s first encounter was obviously one of the greatest fights in women’s MMA history, and while this rematch wasn’t quite that, it certainly lived up to the hype. Both girls were throwing BOMBS at each other on the feet, Zhang was fucking Joanna up on the ground, and then she sent her out swinging (literally) with that sledgehammer of a backfist. Fucking incredible.

After the fight, Joanna took her gloves off and announced her retirement. Such a shame to see one of the GOATS of women’s MMA leave on a loss like that, but her legacy is cemented forever. Thanks for all the memories and amazing scraps, Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
