This Texas Outfielder Made One of the Most Unthinkably Stupid Plays You've Ever Seen

This is beautiful. Poetic justice in its purest form.

Texas was down 8-5 heading into the 8th inning, but got a pair of runs in the top half to cut the deficit to just a run. Then, the Longhorns' center fielder went LEROY JENKINS and turned an easy flyout into a home run. Just stepped in front of his teammate who had it covered and batted it right over the wall. The only way this could have been more of a season-defining play is if the game was tied, but this mishap was the kickoff to a huge inning for ECU — the Pirates scored four more runs to win 13-7.

In the center fielder's defense, the crowd at The Jungle is no joke, especially out there beyond the fence. They get rowdy in Greenville and it won't get any easier with ECU up a game in the three-game Super Regional.

He'll be thinking about that one tonight.
