The First Trailer For The Rock's 'Black Adam' Is Here And It Doesn't Look Great

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods -- and imprisoned just as quickly -- Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

As far as passion projects go, Black Adam is to The Rock what Deadpool is to Ryan Reynolds.

Just look at the dates on those tweets. He had signed on to do it before the second Avengers movie had even released! The movie wallowed in development hell for a while. It was set to release in December of 2021, but got COVID delayed until October of this year. The Rock has basically been promoting it non-stop for 5 years and FINALLY we got a full look at it. The kicker is that this trailer? Not exactly worth the wait....

Between the crappy dialogue, overly-CGI'd crap and sepia filtered crap, I'm not feeling great about this movie's chances. Add Noah Centineo to that mix, and I'm almost dreading it. The one cool aspect of this trailer was Black Adam rejecting the classical hero creed not to kill people. Will he be brutally murdering bad guys? Who knows! The one thing that DC has done truly right was let James Gunn run wild with 'The Suicide Squad'. Something tells me Black Adam will be a lot more traditional than that but a man can dream.

Regardless, shoutout to the Rock who is a fellow believer in the Tom Cruise fake ass conspiracy.
