There Was Never A Bigger Lock In Hockey History Than The Edmonton Oil Kings Winning After Biz Read The Starting Lineup Card Before The Game

The Edmonton Oil Kings are up against the Seattle Thunderbirds in the WHL Championship series. Seattle took game 1 on the road in Edmonton. The Oil Kings clearly needed a little bit of juice heading into game 2 to even up the series before heading out to Seattle for games 3 and 4. And if you needed a cup of juice, Biz showed up with a few gallons before the game to read off the starting lineup.

I'm not sure if Seattle knew ahead of time that they'd be playing against an Oil Kings team that was all horned up after having Gretzky and Biz in the locker room before puck drop. I feel like if they caught word of that, they would have saved themselves the time and just hopped right on the flight back home. Just seems like a gigantic waste of time, resources, and energy to even go through with that game when everybody knew the win was locked up for Edmonton. The moment Biz got the beat, you know it was over.

Just a shame the Oilers didn't get the same treatment. Maybe Connor McDavid would still be playing right now instead of having one of the most dominant seasons of his career get wasted by an organization that thought Mike Smith would be their answer between the pipes.
