The Pensacola Blue Wahoos Walk It Off In Hilarious Fashion After Getting Four Consecutive Hit By Pitches
It's been a while since we got a weird walk-off in minor league baseball, but this one may be on top of the weird list for a while. The Pensacola Blue Wahoos got their third straight walk-off win against the Biloxi Shuckers. But that wasn't the weirdest part. They did it thanks to 4 straight HBP. You read that right, 4 straight batters get plunked to win it for the Blue Wahoos. It went from "WTF is going on" to "holy shit they won". Usually 4 straight guys get beaned you're getting benches clearing and punches thrown. This was just a celebration. 7-6 Blue Wahoos won it all thanks to beanballs.
They ended up scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th all without a hit. An error, a walk, and 4 HBP. Awful job by the relievers there, all you have to do is...not hit someone? Easily will be their strangest win of the season and nothing will come close. Every HBP also looks intentional. I know it's not, but they're like right in the ribs, right off the elbow, I mean they're hit flush. Pitcher didn't even care on the last one. He was already checked out, just wanted to get on the bus and head home. What a weird game for these two, you usually don't see 4 HBPs in one series, let alone consecutively to win a game. I also have to mention this is a great uniform matchup, good looking jerseys.
