Insane Fans Of A 3rd Tier Italian Club Forced A Player To Pull Over And Stripped Him Of His Clothes Saying 'He's Not Fit To Wear A Team Shirt'

[Source] - THIS is the moment Italian ultras forced a footballer to pull over to the side of the road and then made him strip to his underwear.

Lower league Italian side Avellino lost their Serie C promotion play-off to Foggia 2-1 and after the game, midfielder Claudiu Micovschi was forced to a standstill by a car driven by bitter fans.

The 23-year-old former Genoa ace was forced to strip off his club tracksuit in the near-midnight altercation on May 4.

Italian police have arrested two men aged 22 and 30.

Both could face charges of threatening behaviour and the theft of Micovschi's tracksuit.

I don't joke around when I say European soccer fans are batshit crazy and this is exactly why. We're talking about Serie C - the 3rd highest league in Italy. That ain't gonna stop fans from losing their shit over a loss in the playoffs. They want to move up to Serie B and if you lose you better be prepared for insane people to pull you over and strip you of your clothes. It doesn't help when the owner's son encourages fans to act and blames the players for all the losses:

Micovschi's run-in with disgruntled fans may have been egged on by the son of Avellino's chairman. Giovanni D'Agostino placed the blame of the loss squarely on the players at a post-match press conference.

He said: "It’s easy to see the real culprits here are the players.

"They haven’t shown they are worthy of wearing this shirt.” "Maybe the piazza [fans] can help us."

Well guess what Giovanni, they did. They did quite literally 'help' you by stripping Miscovschi of his tracksuit. They deemed him not fit to wear the team logo which is as sacred as sacred gets in European soccer. Now just picture this happening in like AA baseball. You can't. This shit doesn't happen here. It's a completely different sort of fandom over in Europe and this is one of the sides of it.

At least they let him wear his underwear. That's how you know they were sincere about not being fit to wear a team shirt. They simply wanted him to remove that. Underwear? By all means, go ahead and wear whatever you prefer. Get back in your car and drive home, just know that we're going to steal your tracksuit.

Crazy people man. Just handle a loss like the rest of us. Scream about it to family and friends who are fans of the same team. Tweet through it. Write a blog. Grab a drink and replay the game in your head and come up with all the fixes yourself. That's how normal people do it.
